I have a Canon 400d & i have the 18-55mm lens. I need another lens to take far off shots and macro shots?

Which lens do i need to buy?? the make doesnt matter... i am essentially looking for the cheapest deal possible.. :)

  1. For far off shots, do you mean as in shooting wildlife or field sports?  For that your least expensive option is the Canon  70-300 mm.  For macro, you will need one of the fine Canon 60 mm or 100 mm macro lenses.  Skimping on lenses is the last thing you want to do since you can expect to be using them for decades, while your fine 400D will be replaced in about three to four years.

I have been a customer for some 25+ years and they have a comeplete professional staff.

    I own a XTi and at this time only have 2 lens for it, a Tamron 18-250 plus a Canon 50mm.
