And my birthday is coming up and I wanted to ask for some accessories to go with it, I can probably only go with one or two lenses, and there are three that can go with this camera; a wide converter - DC58A , a tele-converter - DC58B , & a close-up lens - 500 D .

Which would be the best to get? I like taking far away pictures, close up, and I'd like to start taking more scenic pictures so I think the wide would be good for those type. But I'm not sure if one is better than another. :)

  1. Hi,

It just depends on you priorities.

Wide converter decreases the focal lenght - this means the picture angle would be wider so you can squeeze more subjects in the frame. It's great for photographing landscape and people groups.

Tele converter increases focal lenght = makes the lens longer. Useful for shooting wildlife and people from long distance :)

Close-up lens alows bigger magnification when shooting macro photos; the more you zoom in, the bigger it will be.

Remember all these add-ons cause slight decrease in picture quality, so if you don't need it at the moment, don't keep it on the lens.

And one important thing - you also need a LAH-DC20 (LA-DC58E) conversion lens adapter to mount these accesories.
