I have a Compaq Presario F500 laptop that is about 6 months old and the internal wireless card is going out. It takes about 2 hours of restarting before it actually turns green and picks up the signal. I don't see a spot to put in an external wireless card and my computer person says that it's too expensive to repair an internal and I need to get an external.

Is the F500 different? Can I use a wireless card that perhaps connects through the USB port?
