I have a D-Link wireless

Question

I have a D-Link wireless router, it is a DI 524 model. Well I just recently had to reinstall everything on my desktop computer, which my wireless router and dsl pipe are hooked up to. I have a laptop with wireless capabilities on it I can get the signal but cannot access the internet and I can't access the internet on my deskop either. I have done this before and it never effected my connection. I was told to reset my wireless router which I did and set it up again. Can you tell me where I went wrong?
