I have a DCR-DVD92 sony camcorder, how do I get the time and date to show up.?

I can't get the time and date to show up when I play in a dvd player. I have read the whole manual and searched the internet and found no answers. I would imagine this problem is specific to this model.

According to the manual I downloaded at the support area at sony.com,

page 67 says you can display the date and time when you playback using the "Data Code" menu item selection.
