I have a DSC alarm

I have a DSC alarm keypad in my apartment. It started to beep every 10 seconds or so. I called the technician who was leaving for vacation. He told me to press * 2. it indicated that the battery was low. He told me to press # which silenced the beeping. He said to keep pressing # until the keypad could be serviced. Here's my problem, the keypad is beeping again. when I press # it only silences it for a few minutes. when I press * 2 the zone 1 lights up which mean service is required. The technician is not available and my landlord is sleeping...it's 1:30AM!!! is there anything I can do myself to fix this problem. I tried to decrease volume of beeping by holding # down but it is not working at all. Help please!
