  1. I looked up the specs on that laptop and it says that it should come with an internet 10/100 Ethernet card and Wireless network.

To answer your question I use a lot of Netgear. Check this one out http://netgear.com/Products/Adapters/Ran...

  2. If you just bought your Dell Studio 15 laptop, it either has a wireless G or N ($25 more) card inside. The wireless N card has better speed and range than the G. For the internet service provider you need to have depending on your use, decide on using DSL (cheaper) or cable internet (like Comcast - faster but expensive). Some DSL companies like AT&T offer all in one modem-wireless router units. Modems and routers (get the wireless router of course for your wifi needs) are purchased separately or rented (modems only). There are security codes under the wireless router that you can use or enable for private access. Some wireless routers are made "public" or "open" which means anybody can access or use your internet service slowing your connection among others. Maximize your internet experience with a wireless N card and a wireless N router. The wireless N router is backward compatible. It will work with a wireless G card if that's what you have already in your laptop/notebook system but there is no change in speed or range. By the way, there is no combo internal modem/router.
