I have a Dell inspiron b130 that is 2 years old. It needs new battery. Should I replace laptop or buy bat.?

And I would like to know if I should buy a battery from Dell or off the internet? My laptop is the low end laptop so I am wondering if spending any money would be worth it. At Dell a battery would be 134.00 and on some internet sites it would be around 75.00 to 80.00.

depends you know on what you use your laptop for.

Either way if you get a new one you will sell this one or use it as a sidekick, in either case you would need a new battery for it.

check online for universal batteries, they are much cheaper (about 30-40) dollars.

it depends on a couple things.

does this laptop do all that you want to? all that you would want to do in the future?

do you actually use the battery, or are you mainly at places where you can just plug in?

If you love this laptop, and it has all that you would ever use, then stick with it. if you want to do more, then i would save your money for a new one (you can get new dells with dual core for about $600 now). Also, if you are going to stick with the old one, but you stay plugged into the power cord a lot, i wouldn't get the new battery. If you do use the battery frequently, i would go with the less expensive one (just because i'm a penny pincher). If you get a new laptop, you can always sell the old one on ebay, just make sure that you mention the battery issue (approximate how much battery time the current one has and suggest that they buy a new one).
