I have a Directv box in my room and wanted to relocate it to my basement. How can I make the box work?

I want to do this myself because Directv will charge me $40 to relocate a box.

This depends on how your home is wired.  If your home was wired for cable, you should have a central location where the cables for each room come together.  If this is the case, simply find which cable goes to the basement and connect the satellite cable to it.  Then move the Directv receiver into the basement and connect it as before.
