  1. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD creator give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can search some other software:

  2. if you're trying to play it back on your computer's dvd drive, try using a different software to play it back.  softwares have their own preferred codec that they use and the one you're using right now may not be using the best.

if you're trying to play it back on a stand alone dvd player, chances are it's the conversion process that's gone bad.

either way, it's a codec problem. check the codecs that you have installed.  there's a good possibility that you have some conflicting ones.  if you installed a codec pack such as k-lite, try uninstalling those. the last time i had a problem similar to yours, i had to uninstall all the conversion, editing, and playback softwares that I had and then re-installed them one by one just to find out the culprit.  That's a bit extreme and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're out of other options.
