Question:

I have a FAA CPL and a class 1 medical. My license is current. Can i excercise my previleges in Hong Kong ?

meaning... can i fly a private a/c in hong kong and fly... ? like rent a plane and fly like we do in the US.... ?

and can i get a type rating in hong kong based on my FAA CPL... if yes.. how ? thanks

  2. Your FAA Commercial License, or any FAA license from the USA is only valid while you are piloting an aircraft that has been registered in the US.

    To exercise pilot in command privledges in a foreign country in a foreign registered aircraft, you must apply and obtain the proper license of that country.

  3. Hong Kong accepts US FAA CPLs. You can fly as you would normally do in the USA.

    Type ratings can be obtained in Hong Kong. Best would be to go over and check out the various clubs/schools which carry such programmes.
