I really hope this doesnt come across as boasting but at GCSE i got 3A* 6A and a merit in GNVQ ICT... this means i only have 9 GCSEs instead of 10 like most people. I also looked on the internet and found out (off WIKI) that GNVQ's are often joked about in that they are not really very good qualifications... when i took it up i was under the impression they were. Do employers look poorly upon those with less GCSEs than most other people, i.e me?

  1. All qualifications have their own merit However, how many you have has no indication whatsoever of intelligence. Grades are only a small part of a C.V. Employers are looking for much more than that.

  2. If you took yours at intermediate level or higher then they are worth four GCSEs at A-C level depending on pass, merit and distinction.

  3. I did  a GNVQ in ICT too, and it actually amounts to Four gcses.

9 gcse's is good. You only need 5 to get into college, and no one ever looks at them again once you have been to college. Employers don 't care about GCSE's, they are just a stepping stone to college. They don't get you a better job if you go into  work straight after school, they just make you more appealing a candidate.

  4. i was told it was 2 GCSE's. and that they were finnished in 2003. rite after i got mine in ICT. lol
