The text is from the Swiss poet and theologian Kurt Marti in "Zartlichkeit und Schmerz." Thanks for your help!

  1. "Where it is already not easy to talk with Capitalism about Capitalism it often  becomes impossible to do this with it's petty-bourgeois followers. For them, Capitalism might as well not exist: puppets on a string, who can't feel whose fingers move their lives.

Innocently (naively) they mistake their being moved for their own movement, their functioning for freedom."

  2. As it is not easy to talk about Capitalism with a Capitalist anyhow, it will often be impossible to do that with its petty bourgeois satellites. Capitalism practically doesn't exist to them: those puppets who can't perceive, whose fingers do set their lives in motion. Credulous they think their being-moved would be self-motion, their functioning would be freedom.

  3. "It is not easy, talking to capitalism about capitalism, and often it goes towards the impossible to do so with its lower-burgeois tallies. For them, capitalism is as good as non existent: Marionettes, who can't perceive whose fingers move their lives. Good-believing, they hold their being moved for self-movement, their functioning for freedom."

(Own translation, tried to get the old-fashioned style across)

(I'm extremely thankful for the two thumbs down, because that shows me that my rather poetic translation hit the notion of the original. -- edit: They've become three while I wrote. I apologise for the miscounting.)
