Question:

I have a Grape vine in a pot (white)it has budded below the Graft on the rootstock what should I do?

it is as I suspected, and both your ans's are good in my eyes I'll flip a coin for best!

  1. Buds below a graft are called "suckers" and should always be removed. If they aren't, they will suck energy from the portion above the graft and reduce production of the desired fruit.


  2. pinch it off as close to the root stock as possible if its to large to pinch clip it. then pinch when ever it starts to grow. it will never have good grapes on that vine.
