I have an HDTV which has only 1 HDMI input -

I have a HD cable box which is HDMI and a HDMI DVD player.

Is there a 2:1 switch and will that work?

I need some good solutions!

  1. I just bought a HDMI switch from Monoprice.  http://monoprice.com

It's a 4 port switch, cost $40 w/shipping, comes with remote.  My only complaint is that the red LED is rather bright...but a small piece of electrical tape fixes that problem.

Monoprice is also a great place to buy A/V cables too.

  2. I agree--monoprice has good stuff for cheap...but why not just hook up the cable box with component cables if you have them (I assume your TV has component connetctions...)?

Component-video cables are fully capable of carrying either 720p or 1080i HD video signals (the max for HDTV) and will look just as good as HDMI.

  3. yeah there are a few like

    http://www.amazon.com/5-port-HDMI-switch...

and some even came with remote control

  4. Continuous trouble free operation is most important to me when it comes to switching digital video.

    1st choice: http://www.keydigital.com/IW_Products.m4...

    2nd choice:

    3rd choice:

Guru's 4th option, the Belkin piece.

I watched the Axiomaudio video. The guy's kind of a whack job. You may not detect a difference between HDMI and Component, depending on your display, but it's there.

The source device (cable box) is digital. The TV set is digital. Why would anyone prefer to stick digital>analog and then analog>digital converters in line? The golden rule of electronics is: Any time you mess with a signal, you take a little bit of what you want away, and add a little of what you don't want. (noise)

Also, he said you must have v1.3 for copy protection. That's simply not true. You just need HDCP compliant equipment.
