I was wondering if anyone has one and if so can you hook it up to your hdtv to have surround sound from your tv, right now all it has with surround sound is the dvds that we play, would love to have it with the tv too. Thanks Theresa

  1. I don't have one and can't find a reference under that model number, BUT if the home theatre receiver has an optical or digital coaxial audio input AND the HDTV (or a satellite or cable box) has a similar output you could feed surround audio to the home theatre.

However, you would have to be receiving 5.1 surround audio to output it to the receiver/speakers. This usually means digital cable or satellite and a cable or satellite receiver with an optical or digital coax output.

Also recognize that not all TV shows are broadcast in surround sound (many/most are stereo) so even if you have all the connections right you might not get discrete 5.1 surround (although if your home theatre has a Dolby ProLogic setting it can produce matrix surround from a stereo signal).

    Hope this helps.
