  1. I think there is a belt in front and in back, the back one may be broke. Check it out,

  2. Corky is right. It will either be the wide flat belt (style 035) or the transmission actuator (t bar).

The problem usually results from lifting the machine by the handle grip while self propell is activated.

When lifting like that, the drive cable pulls too hard on the actuator bar and breaks away from it. Resulting in the cable only being able to push the actuator forward and not pull backward.  Take it to your lacal vac shop and expect to pay     $45 - $55

  3. There are two belts on this unit, one flat, one V,  both on the left side, as you're looking from the back as you're  using it.  However, the belts won't be the problem.  If it goes forward, but not back, then the problem is the little T bar that the activating cable is normally connected to.  It's broken.  I've had a rash of these lately,(maybe some poorly manufactured parts that are showing up), in my shop.  If you lay the handle all the way back and  look down between the nozzle and the motor area, you should be able to see the cable coming thru on the right side.  If it's connected to the Tee bar, it should move it back and forth as the handle moves, usually the little brass s***w section breaks out and the cable won't pull the bar back any more, it will however, push it forward some.   Not something you'll want to try to fix yourself.  Take it to a reputable repair shop.
