I have a JVC GR-DVL308E that works perfectly indoors but shows a white screen in sunlight?

Works perfectly indoors, brightness wheel set mid way, outside it just shows a very faint image, even with brightness turned to minimum. Using veiwfinder makes no difference.

are you changing the LCD monitor brightness level or the camera exposure?  Sounds like you are just changing the monitor which won't actually affect what is recorded.
