Hooked it up to the SAT cable and ran the automatic channel selector, but it only captured one channel.?? The TV the cable was hooked to is an old CRT, and the NEW TV is supposed to be PAL and NTSC compatible.

  1. Well the satellite box is only supposed to output Channel 3, and the Satellite box does all the channel-changing......

That's why you  only get one channel on your TV set.....

So, once that's done, now you need to connect up either an HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable from your satellite's Video output connections to get HD signals to your HD TV set.....

Because Channel 3 is still a LOW DEF signal out of your Satellite box anyways......they provide that output signal to be used for the long distance runs to other TV sets that are not HD TVs.....

And that box should be an HD satellite box (with the HD logo on the front of the box)
