  1. well it could be a number of things...lens cap still on, insufficient power supply, settings are not adjusted, lighting, brightness/adjustment, or it could be damaged.  you could probably take it in to a store to get it fix but in this day and age you should probably buy a new one.


  2. I suggest checking if the auto-focus is ON - may have been turn-off by mistake.  Also check if the camcorder is set on CLOSE-UP (or Macro) focusing mode...and be sure that the zoom is set to the widest setting.
