How can I get my home videos off of the cassette and onto my computer to burn to a DVD?

  1. By connecting the DV port on the camcorder using a Firewire (IEEE1394a, i.Link, DV - all the same thing) cable connected to the firewire port of your computer. If your computer does not have a firewire port, install one. Generally easy and cheap to do.
