I have a Janome 8080

I have a Janome 8080 that is out of warranty by a month and days. I went to use it and my handwheel will not let me move it backwards. It is not giving me a code that anything is wrong. I can't reach Janome tech support, seems like their sewing machine, they are not working.Thanks,Gloria
