  1. changing gears/ WHAT DO YOU HAVE A 3 SPEED TRANS,  THERES ONLY ONE FORWARD AND ONE REVERSE   WHAT GEARS ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT?

  2. Don't really understand the question.

You mean it's hard to shift between neutral and forward?

What year motor?   It might be a straight mechanical gearbox, but if you have an electric shift or hydraulic-assisted mechanical shifting model, could be a failing solenoid.

When was your last gear oil change?

  3. If it's a mechanical shift, your shift cable is stretched.  Is it chattering the clutch dogs?

If it's an electric shift, you may have the wrong gear oil.  Make sure it's Type C, and not standard lower unit lube.  Personally, I use Dexron ATF in electric shift lowers - much cheaper and it's the same thing, except it's not tinted blue.
