I have a Kentucky Long Rifle with the letters T R Y on it . Does anybody know what it stands for?

Most likely they are the initials of the original owner.  Guns were often made with the maker's name on the top flat of the barrel and the owner's initials on  either a thumbplate located on the top of the wrist of the gun or on the patch box.  Also, locks were usually made by someone other than  the gun maker.  If the initials are on the lock, it is probably the initials of the lock maker.  So, the letters can have different meanings depending on where they are located.
