...it doesn't appear to have a place to attach a kickstand. On cheap bikes, there is usually a place on the frame near the crank where you can bolt on a kickstand. There is nothing like that on this Kona frame in that area.

Also, I don't know if an axle kickstand would work, because this bike has the quick release wheels.

Question is: Does anyone know what kind of kickstand I can attach to this thing? I am using it for my transportation, and it would be good for my mind (and the paint job) if I can find a compatible kickstand.

Thanks.

  1. Well, you are correct in that your bike is not designed to have a kickstand.

Your choice wasn't the best one as a commuter and now I am afraid you'll have to live with it. When you get to your destination, lean it against a pole to lock it or use a bike rack. With the front wheel removed (to lock it with the bike) rest the bike against the pole on the saddle. It won't move.

  2. The reason why its doesn't have a place to attach a kickstand is THAT YOU DON'T NEED ONE. You should put kickstand on good bikes or any bikes at all. Even the guys at the bikeshop where i visit say that they are a waste of money. If you need to leave your bike, lie it down or lean it against something.
