I have a LG RC278

Question

I have a LG RC278 DVD recorder/videocassette recorder.If I copy from a video cassette to DVD then the next time I try to view an ordinary Region 2 DVD the machine cannot read the DVD and ejects it. I have done nothing illegitimate. All copying has been of students work - not copyrighted material.How can I get the machine to play an ordinary DVD again?
