I have a LOT of dust in my house. How can I get rid of it?

For example: Last night I cleaned off the base of my TV so that it was spotless. The next morning, it was covered in dust and cat hair. I only have 1 cat. I've tried using better air filters for my air conditioner, but it doesn't seem to help very much. I was thinking about getting an air purifier, but would that really work and which one should I get?

uhh there's not much you can do for it .

just clean it more often .. or fix something in your house like the filtering systems or something.

You could try and change your filters, and add filters in the return air vents.  Of course a swiffer helps too.
