I have a Les Paul Epiphone and want to upgrade the electronics, but need help

i understand why i would want to upgrade the epiphone pickups to maybe regular les paul gibson pickups or semore duncan pickups or something... but what about the pods? is there any reason to change them? what should i change them with and what difference will i notice in sound? any reason to change the toggle switch?

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Guitar, The stock pick-ups are nice, but I changed them to Seymour Duncan pick ups because I wanted to sound like my fave guitarist, so its your choice if you want to change the clarity of your sound. The pods you don't have to change, unless you want a different color, The toggle switch, actually I'm having bit of a problem, I've seen in some forums that it is advisable to change the wirings, including the toggle switch (in time it loosens and quite irritating to tighten it again and again)
