do I go about doing this? I have a wireless router with my main desktop connected to it via ethernet, and my laptop which is connected to it wirelessly. My Lexmark printer is connected to my desktop computer via USB and has no connections for anything else. No ethernet or secondary usb connections. How do I share it wirelessly to my laptop via my wireless router? Is this possible? Both computers are running Windows Vista Home Premium.

  1. You should use Network Magic.  It allows you to share printers and even files (if you want).

    Click on this link:  http://www.networkmagic.com/product/prin...

    Hope that helps!

  2. Check your connection properties on both machines. Both machines must have file and print sharing enabled

Go to your printer folder - right mouse click on the printer - select sharing

Now make sure both computers are in the same work group.

You should see the other computer in you network display

On the laptop, select add a new printer from the the printer folder

Make sure you select to add a network pronter

Now browse for the printer. You will see it attached to the desktop computer

double click on it and follow the prompts.

You should be good to go.
