I have a MAJOR problem with being lazy! Is this how I'm going to be my whole life?

When it comes to school and work, I'm not lazy.

But when it comes to personal things that are not scheduled (like cleaning my room, running, etc.), I am SO lazy! My clean laundry will literally sit in baskets for weeks... even months. I put away laundry maybe 3 times a year. I never dust, I never vacuum... nothing. Also, I have been wanting to go out and run with my dog lately... but I can't get my a** out of bed to do it!

I have tried everything. I have tried putting myself on a rigid time schedule- that doesn't work. I have tried cleaning to music or t.v.- that just makes it worse. I have even told one of my friends to text me every few minutes to make sure I am cleaning my room!!

Is this how I'm going to be my whole life? Or it just a phase (I'm 19 yrs. old, female)? I used to be so organized and clean! :(

HELP! What can I do to keep myself motivated?

  1. were your parents like this also?

Could be that you are following their example maybe

  2. This is what I do sometimes and it works, I hate cleaning too, but I don't like a messy house either. Set a timer for 15 minutes, pick a room to start cleaning or picking up, when the timer goes off, stop cleaning that room. Set the timer again for 15 minutes and start on a new room. Get it.  In no time you will have your stuff put away and a cleaner house.

  3. You are not lazy, you just don't like housework. Be sure to marry a man who will hire you a maid...lol

  4. LOL. Will you marry me?

But seriously will you marry me?

Actually the only way I got over not doing all the annoying but necessary little tasks was just to tough through for awhile until they became habit, you wont really have any motivation to do the tasks themselves, only motivation to not be lazy anymore.

  5. Here some tips:

    1. Start keeping your room organize.

    2. Start making a cleaning schedule

    3. Give credit to your self every time you improve

    4. Tell your self that leaving your room not dusted, wil promoted the grow of bacteria.

    5. Start taking micro biology and see what could you find out growing in your room.

    6. Have a positive attitude toward cleanliness.

    That all I have

  6. you're even to lazy to answer your own question, which only you can decide on....based on this, I would say yes, and it's gonna hurt you.
