I have a MagicJack and it workd well for outgoing calls but only get a busy signal for incoming. Suggestions?

  1. MagicJack---- - for those too challenged to read this!!

    I'm always amazed how fast ppl blame the technology

    for their own laziness to adapt or learn to surf a manufactures website...

    Too many posters here are just too d**n lazy to own a PC...

    its not a toaster, you may actually have to think how to use something..

    yes MagicJack is advertised to work out of the box..

    but when things burp... read

    maybe just maybe its YOUR microsoft c**p

    or your non-high speed Internet access...

    What network ports does magicJack use?

    magicJack uses ports UDP 5061, TCP 80 and TCP 443

    Does magicJack work behind a firewall or NAT?

    Yes it does.

    You should make sure that your software firewall allows magicJack to make outbound connections. Check the documentation provided by the vendor on how to do this.


  2. this is a common problem with vista...did you already do the magicFix?

    did you establish an guest-user account  ( just for the MJ)???

    go to the device manager and disable all your music-boxes iPot music players etc. temporally!! untill you have fine-turned the MJ...also did you already set-up your voice-mail???

    I got skype and MJ all on one computer and never had any problems!!
