I am riding a barrel mare for a friend. The mare has a sore shoulder muscle. (that is what the vet said) Aother friend said that if I troted her for a long period of time it would help the muscle. Does anyone no the distance I should trot her? She is out of shape. She hasn't turned a barrel in a year and i have only ridden her once before she became sore. Please help! I have to get her in Rodeo Condition QUIK!!!!

  1. warm her up really good b4 you run barrels and rub her muscle don't push too hard to get her in shape she is no good lame be sure ur goal too get her ready is realistic. good luck

  2. Well, I would work her much more, but conditioning aside, there are elixirs like blue lotion, and Bigeloil and such that really help alleviate muscle soreness. Think of it like you would if you were exercising. She'll be fine I'm sure as her work load increases.

  3. 1 - how did she get sore ? 2 -Did she have injury before you got her.3 If you ride her like this she will take the pressure of the sore shoulder to compensate ( wide turn )! 4 - If you push to hard some things gunna give, no quick fix !
