Okay I have a 2007 mazda 6 with around 31000 miles on it and I never had a problem with it. Sometimes when I drive, lets say I'm going around 15-35 mph and when i start slowing down or take my foot of the gas my rpm goes up about 300-500 rpm and I'm just wondering if this is normal or is it a problem. I always thought that it could be down shifting or I don't really know much about this so can you tell me WHY it does it and IF it's normal or not.

  1. that's absolutely normal

the gear shifting on the trans make the revs go up depending on the millage

  2. It sure doesn't sound normal.  My best advice would be to bring it in to the dealership, you should still be covered under the factory warrany.
