I dropped it in water today. It was only submerged for maybe 5 seconds and as soon as I got it out I took the battery out.. I tried to blow out any excess water and left it taken apart for 2 hours before trying to turn it on. The lights on the number pad will come on and the lights on the front will come on however the screen won't turn on and the phone will not charge. What should I do?

  1. (1) IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE BATTERY. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

    (2) As soon as possible (preferably within 20-30 minutes). dissassemble the phone using Torx T6 screwdriver. (Get this off eBay or service depots, etc) Make an emergency trip to Sears/RadioShack/ACE/service depot/etc.

    (3) Clean/dry as much as you can, using Q-Tips

    (4) Dry the electronics components under a desk lamp on a paper towel for 24 hours.

    (5) Use a blow dryer, set on warm. Blow dry the phone. Make sure your battery and sim card are out of the phone.

    (6) Leave your phone in rice for 24 hours

    (7) Reassemble the phone

    (8) Put back together

    (9) Only now it's safe to put the battery back in.

You can also leave the battery and sim out. Leave your phone out in the sun. Let it dry.

  2. You did all the right things... keep the battery out tonight and see if it works tomorrow, it may just need to dry out more. If not, then it looks like perhaps the phone is going to have to be replaced.
