I have a Movie Camera Model Panasonic 3CCD using a mini DV. I Can't seem to download the Software on my Laptop

i tried uninstall and then try to install it again but it didnt work. I tried on the other computer i have but it still didnt work.I even connected the USB to the laptop and no response. P.S Since days I have noticed my Laptop saying Driver blocked due Incompability.Is that a reason. Any help appreciated. i have a Hp pavillion Dv 6000 laptop model.

If you want to download video from your dv camcorder, you need a firewire connection. Your laptop and PC probably don't have one. You can buy a firewire card and cord for your PC but your laptop might be a problem, your laptop has to have an empty bay  and not all of them do. Firewire and USB are totally different, not interchangable. Not sure about the driver problem. Do you think the software isn't working because when you hook your camera up via USB it doesn't work? Firewire will correct that problem.

You'll need a firewire aka iLink aka IEEE 1394 cable and a port on your computer to connect it to. If you don't have one, you can get a firewire PC Card adapter. Depending on the card, you'll need a 4pin to 4 pin cable, or 4 pin to 6 pin cable (the camera's DV port is 4 pin). Hope this helps!
