  1. l think you would be wise to wait & call them.  Its a fair question. They often offer those discounts to people who live here but are not residents like snowbirds, retired people, &  students.  Proof of a local mailing address may be enough.   Note;  some of those resident passes have blackout dates- be sure it doesn't conflict with the times you want to use them.

  2. well to make this very easy why don't you book the trip and ask your parents if you can put it in one of their names since they ARE LEGALLY a florida resident.

much easier then appling and waiting for an id to come.

and you can still apply for an id anyway so you'll have it in the future.

and i think to be considered a florida state resident you must own or rent property in florida.

now if you were under age and lived with your parents then you would be considered a florida resident but i'm guessing you aren't under age.

if you want to apply for residency you just have to fill out a form and the requirement to get the form is that you can provide an envelope with your florida address on it. so if you want to do that you can.

  3. How to Apply for a Florida ID Card

Show your documents proving identity (non-U.S. citizens can use these documents as proof).

Show your Social Security card (if you have one).

Be at least 12 years of age (no age requirement in Citrus, St. Johns, and Monroe counties).

Offer proof of your correct address.

    Pay the applicable fees:

    Original card: $3

    Renewal: $10

    Duplicate: $10

    Address change: $10

  4. You better make sure that you are able to do that, it seems to me that you can not have a government issued state driver's license from one state and a government issued state id from another state.  But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask, all they can do is tell you no.

  5. DMP pretty much covers it all.

They'll issue you ID same day.

Downside is may take a couple of hours.

Lots of people at tag office with slow service.

Call them ahead of time and take a number to be waited on.

    Bring something to read.
