if all else fails read the manual that came with the camera

The D50 uses SD memory cards.  If you look on the side of the memory card, there's a slider switch.  Try moving it and see if that unlocks the card.

If that doesn't work, then the card may have become corrupted, which leads to the message that the card is locked.  You'll need to get a new card in that case.

If you need to recover images off the card, try photo recovery software like http://www.photosrecovery.com or other software that's out there.
