I have a Nikon FA and would like to know more about flash photography.?

I have used a FM2 now the FA has auto features and the manual doesn't tell how the auto features react with the flash. It states that the shutter is set at 250. If I want to use a slower shutter speed do I have to use the manual setting?

Normal flash sync for your camera is 1/250 sec. To use a slower shutter speed will require using manual settings.
