Question:

I have a PHD5000 and a 12"subzero and, why does the amp and sub get warm after only a little bit of play time

I'll play it not even pushing the sub too much its at a recemmnded level and it gets not very hot but warm quickly.. i dont now why, i know im taking a lot of power becuase my eletrical system dims a bit

  1. my guess would be the gauge of wire been used and the ground spot.

    make sure the gound spot you are using for the amp is clean, no dirt/oil and no paint. and if you can, try to either use the same gauge for the ground as the power or use a thicker gauge cable for the ground.


  2. you need a capacitor because your vehicle cant produce enough power thats why the electrical system dims and as for the heating up its normal. as long its not getting to hot

  3. ok well try hooking urself up to a 12 volt battery lets see how hot u get its normal man
