Like I said, I have a PS3 and Mac laptop that I'd to connect to a home wireless network. My place isn't that big, your basic one bedroom apartment. It would be great if I could also send info to my printer wirelessly as well. I currently have a cable modem.

  1. go get a linksys wrt54gs

that will solve your wifi problmes

  2. cable modem is the best connection there. you should get linksys or netgear as they are easy to configure and pretty much plug in and play but you just need to configure the wireless network. you can connect a printer if it has network wireless capability or buy a print server device so your printer can be on the network.

  3. Just about any brand of wireless router will do. You need nothing fancy so pick the cheapest "g" compatible. LinkSys is good, but so are Netgear and DLink.

During setup, put the PS3 in pass-through mode (easy - just read the manual, log on with a wired connection using your browser, and set the DMZ to point to your PS3's IP address), connect your cable modem to the router - and go.

The wireless router will serve wireless printer hub, Windows, Apple, Linux, whatever. The router itself most likely is using Linux - especially LinkSys and Netgear brands - so they process faster and are very stable compared to DLink - but YRMV.

    Good luck!
