I have read that you have to reduce the sunlight to about 5-6 hours per day to get it to bloom. My question is, will my pointsetta bloom the same red with white speckles agian this year, or is there something special I need to do to get it to bloom that color agian? (sorry my spelling sucks. my spell checker is not working.)

  1. It will bloom the same as before.  It is a special variety that should remain the same.  But you may also get 1/2 a "petal" that is pure white or red.

  2. I have had poinsettias grow for 5 years after I have purchased them.  I usually put them out in my yard every year for the summer and you must remember to water them.  They come back much fuller and they always come back the same color as I purchased them. They recommend that you put them in the dark for a certain amount of time and give you all these detailed directions.  Believe me I have 4 poinsettias growing now and all I do is water them, put them out in the sun for the summer and bring them back in when the weather gets chilly.  They are fine.  HAPPY GROWING!!!!!!
