Anything would look fine as far as wood color but be sure to keep the lines simple so it doesn't compete with the bed.

I would say look for something traditional in pine or light oak. Complement with a darker paint on the wall but only if the room has ample brightness from outside. A wicker or rattan style lounge chair would be very fitting as well.
