  1. If it is a 1992 made-in-Japan Toyota Corolla, I would feel quite confortable saying, "Repair it."

In any case, here is what I found:

    (1) The 1992 Toyota Corolla (as a 6-to-8-year-old vehicle) had a Reliability Percentrank of .84, which is low for a Corolla as the Corolla Reliability Percentranks for most model years vary from .93 to .98. For reference, Toyota's overall Reliability Percentrank average for 1992 was .88, Honda's, .89, and General Motors' .37.

    (2) AutoOnInfo.net's detailed reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical Toyota at about 19 years of age is about as troublesome to own as a typical General Motors vehicle at age 3 years. This is based on a linear regression of data available for model year 1999.

    (3) AutoOnInfo.net's Roster of Vehicles with 300,000 or More Miles is overwhelming dominated by Toyota. And as the criteria with respect to age and miles are increased, Toyota increases its dominance.

    (4) The site manager drives a 1984 Corolla with more than 500,000 miles, but estimates that it will likely expire before it reaches 750,000 miles. He reports that he lives in Minnesota and describes himself as a moderately abusive driver.

    (5) Although I bought a Honda Fit, Toyotas do dominate nearly all meaningful measures of quality, including reliability and durability. I say "nearly all," as Hondas are also very good by these measures as well.

  2. it depends on the amount of work needed, parts and labor costs and the long term cost to maintain the vehicle

for a new car, its just if you can afford the car note, taxes and other costs

  3. of course u have to

  4. depends if you feel like working with it or just starting brand new
