What does it do when you give the person a "star"?

Maybe I should read the rule book! haha...

But I dont understand Top Contributers..or Stars.

Top Contributor Badge-It means we have no life beyond Y!A:p  It is awarded every Monday morning and you must answer a lot of questions and have a good percentage of those chosen as best answer.

The star I believe is for your contacts to know there is a question that interested you, so it might interest them.

A star is when you find a question interesting - I will give you a star! Then under the tabs of questions you've answered, and asked - there is also a starred section so you can find questions you've starred as interesting to go back and look at. It's on the side right below your question.

A top contributor is someone who answers questions frequently in a section and also gets picked for best answer frequently. However, YA doesn't really say how the badge is awarded or taken away. I've noticed I have lost my badge when I do not answer questions for a while - but it will come back within a week once I start again.
