Not many Master at Arms get stationed in Iraq, but there are a few. Master at Arms would basically be at bases guarding gates and stuff.

They would patrol, you are correct, but not on the front lines or any heat like that. They don't generally go and kill someone. They're more security so if someone threatens them, they will take action. Think of them as military police.

Not sure on the deaths. Probably not many since they don't generally go on the front lines and stuff.
