I have a Samsung Blackjack that is frozen?

It would not let me re-boot past the Windows Mobile start-up screen. I took out the battery and turned it on and it would stay stuck there on the start-up screen. I don't want to reset the phone because it would delete all the memory stored in the phone, is there another way to get it to work?
