The problem is when I try to play MP3s on the DVD player the TV "auto-magically' comes on and displays the folder listing and track names on the DVD. While that's nice, if I turn the TV off it also shuts off the DVD Player... WTF??? I would like yo be able to play MP3s without the monitor having to be on. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. Well first things first, do you shut off the TV with a remote? If you do, try shutting it off with the power button on the actual TV. If it still shuts your DVD player off then go to www.samsung.com and look up the customer service number and give them a holler.

  2. that depends on the receiver, does your receiver have a display directly on it?

if no then you will always have to have your tv on to play your music

if yes then try disconnecting your tv from the receiver otherwise it seems that your receiver is programed that way meaning that you will have to get along with your TV or try going through the receivers menu options and look for some type of display setting to change the playback feature without having it turn on you tv
