I have a Sanyo VPC-E760 Camera and when I plug it in, screen goes black and nothing happens?

I have a Sanyo VPC-E760 camera. Whenever I plug it into my computer to download the pictures, The screen goes black and It still acts like its going to take a picture, and infact, if i press the button, it takes a picture! I'm running on vista, if that is a problem.

If you were planning to shoot a pic, then it should be ok, 'tho if you wanted to copy a video or pic file, windows explorer may be appropriate. ->Start->myComputer?
