Question:

I have a Sharp Aquas hdtv 1080P tv but when I look at the resolution for it says it is a 1080i.?

How can I change this to the true 1080P?

  1. This is something that a lot of people are misinformed about. THe max Native resolution of your tv is 1080p. HOWEVER, Unless you have a Blu-ray player or HD Gaming machine (xbox 360 or Playstation 3), ALL HD content either over the air or through your cable/satellite provider is either 720p or 1080i. NOBODY as of yet transmits in 1080p. DirecTV has come out and said that they plan to broadcast in 1080p by 2010, but that is just a guestimate as of now. So there is nothing wrong with your set if you're trying to watch cable/satellite. Your TV can only display what the source (i.e. your cable/satellite) is feeding it. If you want 1080p, then you'll need to buy a Blu-ray Player.Hope this helps! E-mail if any questions.
