  1. Hi Rachel Green,

    If you are trying to copy pre recorded tapes they are copy protected and your unit will not copy them.

    It is legal to copy your pre recorded tapes for your own use. To do this you have to bypass the copy guard. You can do this with a device like "Sima T120 GoDVD". It removes the copy guard and enhances the picture. You plug your source into it and plug it into the input of your recorder.

  2. Its not meant to record vhs on dvd, its only meant to do it the other way around.
